Monkey old-fashioned cocktail
Ingredients
10 brown sugar cubes
10 dashes Angostura bitters
100ml still mineral water
½ l Monkey Shoulder Triple Malt whiskey
plenty of ice cubes
10 orange peel twists, as big as you can make them (avoid the pith if you can)
Method
On a chopping board, soak each sugar cube with a dash of Angostura bitters. Put sugar cubes into a 11/ 2 litre jug, add the mineral water, a dash of Monkey Shoulder, then gently muddle the mix (using a rolling pin) so that the sugar is almost completely dissolved.
Add half of the remaining whisky and about 10 to 15 ice cubes and stir gently. Add the rest of the whisky, a handful of ice cubes, then stir. Strain the drink into 10 old-fashioned glasses, already fi lled with ice cubes. Squeeze an orange twist over each glass, then drop it into the glass.
